TotalEnergies is committed to the prevention of pellet loss and is a programme partner of the Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS).

Operation Clean Sweep®

Operation Clean Sweep® is a voluntary free program aimed at improving awareness, promoting best practices, and providing guidance and tools to support companies from the plastics value chain in the implementation of the necessary pellet loss prevention measures.

Plastics

Plastics play a major role in improving our quality of life and boosting energy efficiency, but leaks into the environment must be prevented. Plastics industry associations, including the World Plastics Council, launched Operation Clean Sweep® in 2016 to provide guidelines to help all players in the plastics industry — manufacturers, transporters, processors — follow good housekeeping and pellet containment practices, to prevent pellet loss in waterways and oceans.

TotalEnergies contributions to this programme include:

• Leading the promotion of Operation Clean Sweep® to customers and distributors of the association;
• Piloting the audit guidelines for manufacturing norms and practices;
• Demonstrating its exemplary leadership.
