The TotalEnergies plant in Carling produces polymers and resins
Located in Moselle, at the heart of the Grand Est region and at the crossroads of three countries, the TotalEnergies Carling – Saint-Avold site has been a major industrial player for nearly 50 years.
Historically dedicated to petrochemicals, it has undergone a profound transformation to become the European hub for hydrocarbon resins and a leading site in polymer production.
The site currently employs around 400 people and produces polypropylene compounds, polyethylene, and polystyrene.
It is located on the Chemesis industrial platform, which brings together nearly 5,000 employees and several companies in the chemical and energy sectors, fostering industrial synergies and innovation to support the energy transition.

New production line for recycled polypropylene compounds: rPPC
To help automakers achieve their sustainability goals, the TotalEnergies Carling site has opened a new production line for recycled polypropylene compounds.
These compounds incorporate up to 100% recycled materials from the mechanical recycling of sorted household plastic waste.
They meet the highest safety standards in the sectors while fulfilling the sustainability ambitions of automotive industry players.
